Caring Dads developers Katreena Scott and Tim
Kelly presented a symposia session on Caring Dads entitled, "Responsible
Intervention with Fathers who Have Been Violent in their Families".
Caring Dads program developer Katreena Scott participated in the poster presentation at the OACAS joint conference. The poster summarized the program goals and unique characteristics of the Caring Dads program.
Two of the Caring Dads developers, Dr. Katreena
Scott and Dr. Claire Crooks, co-coordinated the 38th
Banff International Conference on Behavioral Sciences: Violence
in the Lives of Children and Families. The conference was held
March 19 - 22 in Banff, Alberta, Canada.
Drs. Crooks and Scott's presentation "Providing
Effective Intervention to Abusive Fathers: Strategies and Lessons
from the Caring Dads Program" developed participants understanding
of the foundational principles necessary for responsible intervention
with at-risk fathers and introduced the content and major therapeutic
objectives of the 17-week Caring Dads program.

Conference presenters Karen
Francis, Tim Kelly, and Claire Crooks offered participants the
opportunity to think about why it is important to offer services
specifically for abusive fathers. Also, Claire
Crooks takes her turn facilitating a poster presentation.
